I got a call 2 weeks before this flood from a friend at Oakley saying Ricki Bedenbaugh would be coming out to Lowell for a week to film a intro for my part. The last thing I ever expected was rain, rain & rain every single day he was out in Lowell. The Merrimack river was coving everything, This cop was stoked to see someone enjoying what was happening.  Photo was taking by Andrea Delehanty

Fritz Mead and I, randomly decided to go on an 8mile hike, on a rainy day,  to Yosemite Peak. We started hiking around 3:30pm and by 5:00pm we ended up in a foggy canyon, with rain that was turning into snow. We hiked up the steapest part of the mountain, carrying all our gear, in the pitch black till will found a place to setup shop. After getting situated, we grabbed as much wood as we could find, making sure to have enough firewood to last to the morning. We woke up at 6:00AM with no sun in sight, 5 degrees never felt so good. After ten minutes of breaking sticks in the freezing cold, we had the smallest fire to work with; just enough warmth to keep telling ourselves the days going to get easier. Ten minutes after that, the fire was big enough to cook on with a small pan. I gathered snow in the pan and I started to melt the snow into water. I boiled the water to make coffee. It was a great way to start our morning, a barbarian touch, a warm coffee and a disgusting cigarette. Doesn’t get better. wahooo

We got into Fort Worth, Texas in the evening and it worked out perfect since we had the generator ready to go. I couldn’t believe the city, there are spots on every block. I can’t wait to enjoy a good week someday cruising around the city,  endless amount of flat bars all over. I’ve never scene anything like it. After a endless skated out day we were so beat but we decided to drive to our next city; Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Our friend Mukasa, originally from Boston now lives in Austin TX. It was amazing to drive 1500 miles and see somebody that I grew up with. We skated downtown for a night between the outer skirt spots to downtown side streets. It was a damn fun time seeing what the city was all about it, It’s been a while since I’ve been to Austin. While we skated through the streets we were waiting to see who was gonna get shit on by all the birds that were flying over head. After a long couple of days in Texas we had to drop Matt Fenell off at the airport to fly back to Maine. It was awesome to have tooth on the trip, epic comedy night and day. Fuck yea buddy, can’t wait to shred soon. Thanks Mukasa / Perry for the good times in Austin!

Cody McEntires is a home sweet home for a man out of Belton, Texas. From country living to getting stuck at Whattaburger & Starbucks for internet,  we spent a decent amount of time in Belton. We had to deal with another day to pass the rain, but it was awesome to finally get to see Cody’s house. Over the years I always got shit from him, “wait till you play on my pool table!” It’s damn true, Cody runs it. Thanks Cody and Claudette and their dog Cloey Ann for having us!
